Glossary of terms
Product modelling is a term that means different thing to different people. Let’s here treat it as to mean the visual and or tangible representation of product designs and conceptual ideas; accompanied or unaccompanied with written notes or specifications.
Prototype means a representation of product design or conceptual idea that is made for mock-up. I.e. capable of being modified over and over until a model is reached.
Model means a representation of a completed final-design or of an as-built building and building components.
Rapid Modelling and Prototyping means the use of latest manufacturing technology and integrated CAD/CAM technique to produce cost effective and time saving tangible models and prototypes.
